Find a Mural Artist

Hire a mural artist (muralist) in the Coeur d'Alene/Post Falls/Spokane area.

Hiring an artist is easy. It's as simple as filling out this form and starting a conversation!

A mural project always starts with two things: a blank space in need of a colorful message, and your idea.

Murals are a phenomenal way to transform a space, tell a story, or make a bold statement. The sky is literally the limit; you have the idea and I help refine it into what will become the art. Whether you're a business owner, city planner, or homeowner, finding the right muralist is key to achieving a stunning and lasting piece of art. You want someone who will consider the art and message you are wanting to represent, while also being able to run with it and interpret it in the most visually stunning way.

Before searching for a muralist, clarify what you want. Consider the location and size of the mural, the style and theme you prefer—whether realism, abstract, street art, graffiti style, portrait, etc— and your budget and timeline. Knowing these details will help you communicate effectively with potential artists. I have all the necesarry starting point on my Hire a Muralist Form.

There are several ways to find talented muralists. Many professional muralists showcase their work on personal websites, and social media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn are excellent places to discover artists and their latest projects. You can also reach out to local art organizations, galleries, or mural festivals for recommendations. If you see a public mural you love, look for an artist’s signature or inquire about the creator. Once you have a few artists in mind (or just me), take time to review portfolios. Look for consistency in quality and style, experience with projects similar to yours, and positive client testimonials or reviews. This will give you a better idea of whether an artist is the right fit for your project. And even when you've found the artist you want, referencing their work and what you like about specific pieces, will help them refine how your piece will look.

Contacting a muralist is the next step. When reaching out, provide details about your project and ask about availability, pricing structure, design process, and materials. Understanding their approach will help ensure a smooth collaboration. It is also really helpful if you have examples images, even if they're from other artists.

Once you've selected an artist, finalize everything in writing. A contract should outline the project scope, timeline, budget, payment schedule, and the artist’s responsibilities, including prep work and sealing the mural. This ensures both parties are on the same page and protects the investment in your mural.

A mural is an investment that enhances your space for years to come. Since the prices tend to be high, it's best to think of it as marketing and pouring back into your commuity. Taking the time to find the right artist ensures a seamless and rewarding creative experience. Ready to get started?
