COEUR D'ALENE, IDAHO“Welcome to Coeur d’Alene” Mural
The “Welcome to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho” mural transforms the side of the Tomlinson Sotheby’s International Realty building in downtown Coeur d’Alene into a vibrant public landmark.
Featuring native wildflowers, regional wildlife, and a sunset view from Mineral Ridge, the mural celebrates the natural beauty and identity of North Idaho. Designed as a visual welcome, the piece invites viewers to pause, explore layered details, and reconnect with the landscape around them.
Funded through community donations, the project included participation from local children and collaborations with downtown businesses, making it not just a mural, but a shared act of public art and civic pride.
This particular project focused heavily on interacting with the other local businesses in the Downtown area, and involving the budding “artists of tomorrow.”
During the construction of the mural, special “Mural Walk” items were released in downtown business to entice foot traffic and spread awareness of the project, including 5 stops: a coloring page, a coffee sleeve, a postcard, a bar of soap, and a candle. All profits went to those businesses.
Among the many volunteers, a summer art camp with local small business, Emerge, stopped by for some color blocking and hand-painting.
